Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that he will not bench players ahead of his team's Premier League clash with Brentford.

The Citizens who are two points behind leaders, Arsenal travel to the Brentford Community stadium to face Thomas Frank side on Saturday.

There have been calls from several national team managers to clubs to rest their players in the final game before the World Cup.

But the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach has said that he will not bench any of his first team players.

“Absolutely we aren’t going to rest players for the national teams, Guardiola said. “I didn’t get any [calls] and it’s not necessary to call me. I advise, don’t call me."

It's the final game before the World Cup in Qatar which will kick off at November 20th 2022.

Guardiola has said he will not attend World Cup games in Qatar. He added that he will take the break to visit his family members in Barcelona, before flying back to Manchester on December 5.

He added: “It’s the last game, most of the players right after the game leave for the national team. They are packing and it’s a dangerous thing.”
