The Ex Nigerian coach has been in Qatar after he was included in FIFA Technical support committee during the ongoing World Cup.
Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has shared a photograph of him posing with one-time Real Madrid captain Fernando Hierro at the Al Thumama Stadium in Qatar.
“At the Al Thumama Stadium to work on Senegal vs Qatar, guess who I ran into? Spanish legend Fernando Hierro (middle), the last time I met him, he was heading the ball out to my direction as I was blessed to strike the goal versus Spain in France ’98. We had lots of laughs,” Oliseh wrote on Twitter
Recall that Sunday Oliseh faced Hierro during the 1998 FIFA World Cup, where Nigeria came from behind to beat Spain 3-2 inside the Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau.
It was the ex Real Madrid centre-back that gave the Spaniards the lead in the 21st minute, expertly guiding a fine free-kick past Peter Rufai.
But Mutiu Adepoju equalised for Nigeria heading home the equaliser from an inch-perfect corner-kick.
Raul Gonzalez put Spain back in the lead just before halftime break. Then Garba Lawal levelled for Nigeria to make it 2-2.
Then Sunday Oliseh scored Nigeria’s best goal at the Mundial after he volley a shot from outside of the box from 25 yards, leaving Zubizarreta with no chance.
