Arsenal star Granit Xhaka has been voted the man of the match award winner during Switzerland 3-2 win over Serbia.
The 30 years old midfielder played a key role in his team victory on frusay December 2nd 2022.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach football club star was given a captain armband as he led his team out to claim their round of 16 qualification.
Granit Xhaka was fantastic for Switzerland national team throughout the entire duration of the game and he was able to play a vital role in their hard-fought victory over Serbia national team, and that also gave him the opportunity to win the Man of the Match award.
Goals from Xhedan Shakiri, Remo Freuler and Breel Embolo gave Switzerland national team a convincing victory, while Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic scored for Serbia national team.
The World football governing body FIFA showered praise on Arsenal star Granit Xhaka.
Reacting after Granit Xhaka guided his team to the round of 16 of world cup, FIFA posted on their verified Twitter handle that;
"A captain's performance from Granit Xhaka! He earns your votes for Player of the Match and guides Switzerland to the FIFA World cup round of 16 for the third time in a row!"
