Just six months after receiving the news that he had a testicular tumor, Sebastian Haller is back in the Borussia Dortmund training program, Reportminds Blog understands.
Sébastien Haller, a striker for Borussia Dortmund, has resumed training after undergoing chemotherapy and surgery to address a testicular tumor that was found in July.
The 28-year-old forward, who cost the German club £29 million on a four-year deal, was informed in July that he needed chemotherapy to treat cancer. He eventually underwent two operations as part of his treatment.
Reportminds Blog understands that Dortmund will resume their season on January 22. They are currently sixth in the Bundesliga, nine points adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich.
Although, the fixture for BVB this month might be too early for the Ivory Coast forward.
If you recall that Haller joined Dortmund in July after scoring 34 goals for Ajax the season before for an initial €31 million.
“Happy New Year to all! And it’s off to a great start for me because it means getting back on the field,” the 28-year-old Ivory Coast international wrote on Twitter, posting images of himself working out at the gym. “2022 wasn’t the easiest year but it prepared me for all the new challenges that 2023 will bring.”
In a video message posted by Dortmund Haller said: “I’m finally back. It was not that easy but with your support it was better and easier to do, so I am just looking forward to seeing you in the stadium for some victories.”
