Jadon Sancho made his first appearance in Manchester United's matchday squad since October when he was spotted arriving at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old rejoins the Red Devils for their Carabao Cup semifinal matchup with Nottingham Forest.

Erik ten Hag's team will hope to beat Newcastle in the final with a comfortable lead of 3-0 from the first leg.

Manchester United's social media accounts posted a picture of Sancho arriving at the stadium with the caption "Welcome home" in advance of the match.

Ten Hag said that Sancho would be back in the matchday squad at his press conference on Tuesday before the game.

He had suggested that Sancho might return prior to United's FA Cup match against Reading on Saturday. In an October 1-1 draw against Chelsea, he made his final United appearance.

During the midseason break in Spain and Qatar during the World Cup, the winger was found to be mentally and physically unfit to join the team.
Sancho was sent to Holland for one-on-one training with coaches Ten Hag personally recommended while he closed his social media accounts.

Ten Hag stated that the England international was improving after returning to Carrington in January for first-team training.

United has a packed schedule of matches in four different competitions, so Ten Hag will greatly benefit from Jadon Sancho's return.

The winger could be used to ease into the game against Forest because the hosts have a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst, and Bruno Fernandes scored in the first leg to give Ten Hag's team a significant advantage.

United may also bring back Anthony Martial, who left the Manchester derby at halftime last month on a limp.

Man Utd XI: Heaton, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho, Weghorst.

Subs: De Gea, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Mainoo, Pellstri, Martial, Rashford, Sancho

Nottingham Forest XI: Hennessey, N Williams, McKenna, Boly, Lodi, Freuler, Scarpa, Mangala, Lingard, Johnson, Surridge.
