Marc Cucurella returned to the Chelsea starting line up against Borussia Dortmund as he helped his team advance into the next round of the UCL.

The full back has been put of form in recent games but Potter called him back due to injuries to other players at the defense.

Cucurella played along with Ben Chilwell in defense as he force along of attacking move at the left hand side.

In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, Chelsea defeated Borrussia Dortmund by scoring twice to win over Germany after losing the first leg.

With a back three formation, Graham Potter's team started with Marc Cucurella instead of Trevoh Chalobah, a more conventional center back.

The Spanish defender clearly justified his inclusion with a big, big performance in defense.

As Ben Chilwell had permission to join the attack, Cucurella covered the left back position with a lot of vigor. He had more touches (59) and passes completed (35/43) than any other Chelsea player against Dortmund.

Graham Potter's selection clearly worked all night, and Marc Cucurella won the man of the match award for his game-high eight ball recoveries and four interceptions.

Up next for Chelsea is a Premier League game against Leicester City this weekend.

The Blues will hope to continue with their new form as they intend to climb up the Premier League table, as they occupy 10th place.
