In a nail-biting 4-3 result at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace defeated West Ham United to claim the Premier League title.

Selhurst Park's malfunctioning turnstiles caused the start of the match to be delayed, but both sets of supporters were more than compensated for their patience by a thrilling first half.

In South London, West Ham scored first. Tomá Souek scored from close range after Michael Olise mishandled Jarrod Bowen's inswinging corner.

To guarantee that the stadium crowd enjoyed the London derby, Jordan Ayew of Palace scored an equalizer with his right foot.

To make it 3-1, Wilfried Zaha and Jeffrey Schlupp seemed to put the Eagles beyond reach.

Zaha came back in the starting lineup for Palace after missing four games due to injury, and when Ayew skillfully flicked on Olise's original cross, it was impossible for the former to miss the goal.

Ten minutes later, after dispossessing Souek, Zaha expertly nutmegged Ukasz Fabiaski one-on-one.
Michail Antonio, though, gives the visitors a goal back by glancing in Souek's flick-on at the back post.

Eberechi Eze scored once again from the penalty spot for Crystal Palace to make it four goals after the half. He was brought to the ground in the penalty area by Nayef Aguerd's feeble tackle, earning the penalty kick, which he comfortably drilled into the bottom corner.

However, the Eagles once more allowed a goal, this time a third from Souek, who dribbled to the front post and flicked on, allowing Aguerd to bundle in at the far post to make the score 4-3.
