James Ward-Prowse, the captain of Southampton has expressed his disappointment after their relegation from Premier League.

The Saints were confirmed relegated to the Championship for next season. This comes after Southampton's defeat to Fulham.

Earlier today, Goals from Carlos Vinicius an Aleksandar Mitrovic secured a comfortable win for Fulham that sees Southampton relegated from the Premier League table.

Although Southampton will have themselves to be blamed with their poor performances in games so far in the campaign.

James Ward-Prowse admitted that the team's work rate on the pitch hasn't been good enough.

James Ward-Prowse reacting to Southampton's relegation from the Premier League, "It's not been good enough from the first day of pre-season right until now. You can feel the standards of the club slipped away."


The English international also responded to question about his future at the Saint Mary's.

There are report that several players could leave the club at the end of the season if they are relegated.

Reacting to his future with Southampton, James Ward-Prowse said: "I'm not looking beyond tomorrow, it's all about today."
