Following his last game as a loan player at the club, Joao Felix issued a mysterious Chelsea transfer hint. The 23-year-old's first stint away from Atletico Madrid is over, but his future is still up in the air.
Felix has spent his five months in London scoring four goals, so his temporary relocation has been a mixed bag. His effect has been less than anticipated after a promising and lively start was ended by a straight red card on his debut against Fulham.
Felix, who was brought in to help Chelsea advance in the Champions League, failed to score in any of the four knockout games in which he appeared, wasting crucial opportunities in the 1-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund. He did, however, have a little bit of bad luck, hitting the woodwork three further times in four games.
While Atletico Madrid is eager to return as much of the significant £111 million they paid Benfica for his contract in 2019, his performance does not support that as being good value.
He posted a picture of Stamford Bridge that was shot from the field in his farewell post, which appeared on his page early on Monday morning.
