Kai Havertz, a German international, has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal after leaving Chelsea.

Kai Havertz leaves Chelsea for Arsenal in a £65 million move after passing his medical over the weekend.

The number 29 that the 24-year-old attacker wore while playing for Chelsea and Bayern Leverkusen will be worn by him this season.

Havertz graduated from the Bayer Leverkusen academy and inked his first deal with a business in 2016. Havertz played 150 times for Bayer Leverkusen over the course of four years, contributing 31 times and providing assists on 46 goals.

After making his formal introduction to Arsenal supporters, he affirmed his confidence in the group.

He claims that the Arsenal team has a very strong attitude.

Havertz said: “It's super exciting for me to be joining this amazing club and to be part of the Arsenal family. This club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of things”.

“The mentality in the Arsenal squad is very high and you can feel that”.

Havertz transferred to the Premier League in the summer of 2020 by joining Chelsea. He made 139 appearances over the course of his three seasons in west London, contributing to 15 assists and scoring 32 goals in all competitions. In the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final, Chelsea defeated Manchester City with Kai scoring the game's lone goal.

After the contract was signed, Mikel Arteta complimented Kai Havertz.

The Arsenal manager acknowledges Kai Havertz's performance on the field.

Mikel Arteta on Havertz: “Kai is a player of top quality. He has great versatility and he’s intelligent player”.

“He will bring a huge amount of extra strength to our midfield and variety to our play”
