Cesar Azpilicueta, the captain of Chelsea, has finally decided to sign a free transfer to join Atletico Madrid.
Following the completion of his signing with Wanda Metropolitano, the Spanish international will depart for his own country.
Azpilicueta will sign a two-year deal with Atlético Madrid, according to sports writer Fabrizio Romano.
Azpilicueta was reportedly interested in a free move to Inter Milan over the week.
However, it seems that Atletico Madrid ruined the agreement since Azpilicueta would rather go back to Spain.
Even though Azpilicueta verbally agreed to personal terms with Inter Milan last week, Atléti are currently the favorites.
