Man City have reportedly joined the fight to acquire Celta Vigo midfielder Gabriel Veiga, who is sought after by a number of teams in Europe, according to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano.
Rice, who is expected to go with Arsenal this summer, was passed over, therefore Pep Guardiola's team is now focusing on Veiga.
Veiga's contract with Celta Vigo has a £34 million release clause.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has drawn interest from teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Liverpool, but Man City are now also considering signing him.
