Jurrien Timber's injury, which is anticipated to keep him out for a while, has received an update from Arsenal.

The Dutch international's substitution during his first match for the Gunners over the weekend was a major injury setback.

Jurrien Timber suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during a match against Nottingham Forest.

Recall that Mikel Arteta beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 to kick off the season at the Emirates stadium.

Timber, who this summer transferred to Arsenal from Ajax, was replaced against Forest in the beginning of the second half.

Timber's knee injury has been verified, and he will be sidelined for months.

Jurrien Timber captivated the hearts of fans during Arsenal's successful preseason tour in the United States.

Arsenal has announced that Jurrien will have surgery soon and will be out for a while as a result.

The former Ajax player has expressed his dissatisfaction on social media. He tweeted, "Gutted to share my injury is more serious than expected, especially after the warm welcome I've received. I wanted to repay you on the pitch, which will not be possible for the forthcoming period. Thanks for making me feel at home and see you at The Carpet"
