On Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford, Brighton was led to victory by coach Roberto De Zerbi, 3-1.
Brighton held off early pressure from Manchester United to take a 3-0 lead in the encounter.
Moments after the third goal, Hannibal Mejbri scored United's response, scoring his first goal for the team with a curling shot.
Erik ten Hag was recently outclassed by Roberto De Zerbi throughout the field, which caused the Italian to raise the problems with United.
After the game, De Zerbi said that United has an issue that he can't place.
“I don’t know the problem of Manchester United, I can explain my team.”
He followed by applauding his squad but implying that Ten Hag had shocked him. “We are playing with courage. In the first 15, 20 minutes we suffered a lot because Man United played in a different way than we prepared for but after that we played a great game. I think the game was changed when we kept the ball.”
Despite a strong start, Brighton took control as a result of United's inability to stay up.
Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen are both below par, therefore the midfield set-up has to be examined.
However, effort appears to be the problem, with Casemiro again being caught off guard and teammates not doing their hardest to recover.
