Alex Iwobi of Fulham recently discussed leaving Everton on the last day of the transfer window and his experience at Goodison Park.
Alex Iwobi claims it was hard for him to leave Everton this summer, but his £22 million move to Fulham was best for everyone involved.
In the just closed 2023 transfer season, the Nigerian international departed Everton in order to rejoin with Marco Silva.
Recall that Iwobi was transferred to Goodison Park from Arsenal by Marco Silva four years ago for an original £28 million on deadline day.
Iwobi left Everton as a player who had grown and changed while relocating to the Merseyside.
The former Arsenal attacker has expanded his skill set, becoming a creative, adaptable player who seems at ease in a center midfield position right now.
Speaking to Athletic, Alex Iwobi said: “It wasn’t an easy decision. I enjoyed my time there, especially the last couple of years.
“I felt like they warmed to me. At the same time, I felt I needed a new challenge, and Fulham are giving me the platform to express myself and do that.”
