Ilebaye Odiniya responds to criticism after the release of her account data a few hours after winning the BBNaija All Stars competition.
Ilebaye, the winner of BBNaija All Stars, has spoken out after receiving criticism for her post.
She had alerted people about a popular fraud, saying that some dishonest individuals were attempting to extort money from her followers while posing as her.
Ilebaye told all of her admirers who wanted to donate to send money there instead by posting her account information on her official handle in order to prevent this.
Netizens apparently misread her post in response, suggesting that she was still trying to collect N120M from admirers despite having already received N120M.
Ilebaye clarified the misunderstandings in a subsequent tweet by stating that her earlier message was solely intended to stop certain people from engaging in fraudulent activity and that she had never asked for money.
She wrote, “This tweet was solely to avoid people who WANT to gift falling into the hands of scammers.
"We didn’t solicit for funds, we only highlighted the account we have access to.
"Too many fake account numbers are circulating and we will not be held accountable for any misappropriation.”
