Manchester United's coach, Erik Ten Hag, has recently voiced his unwavering support for goalkeeper Andre Onana, standing by the embattled player despite recent underwhelming performances.
Onana's tenure at Old Trafford has been marred by criticism and concerns over his subpar displays, drawing attention to errors that have led to conceding goals since his arrival.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper arrived at Manchester United as the successor to David De Gea, who departed after the expiration of his contract in the previous season. Erik ten Hag facilitated Onana's transition to Manchester United, having previously collaborated with him during his coaching stint at Ajax, securing the goalkeeper for a hefty fee of £45 million from Inter Milan.
The latest setback for Onana occurred during United's UEFA Champions League encounter against Galatasaray, where the team squandered a two-goal advantage, ultimately settling for a 3-3 draw. Onana's unconvincing performance was evident when he was beaten by Hakim Ziyech's close-range free kick.
Despite the goalkeeper's recent struggles, Ten Hag remains resolute in his support, expressing confidence in Onana's ability to handle pressure. The coach highlighted Onana's resilience, stating, "He is a strong character; he will deal with it. Overall, in the first five months, he has done well."

"He is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League if you analyze it thoroughly. Based on statistics, his expected prevention of goals ranks him second-best in the PL," Ten Hag emphasized.
