Jürgen Klopp Concerned as Trent Alexander-Arnold Suffers Knee Injury Again

Jurgen Klopp Provides Update on Alexander-Arnold's Injury in Liverpool's Win Over Burnley

Jürgen Klopp confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold was substituted at half-time during Liverpool's 3-1 victory over Burnley due to injury. The Reds rebounded from their previous defeat to Arsenal with a solid performance in the Premier League encounter.

In the Saturday match, Harvey Elliott played a pivotal role by assisting Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez after Dara O’Shea’s headed equalizer just before half-time, securing three crucial points for Liverpool.

Manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his apprehension about Alexander-Arnold's fitness, as the defender re-injured the same knee that kept him sidelined for three weeks in January. Alexander-Arnold contributed to Liverpool's opening goal with a corner for Diogo Jota’s header before being substituted at half-time.

Regarding the injury, Klopp mentioned, “His knee again? Yes, it felt like that. He got it stuck in the grass, and we will see. We have (to send for) assessment. Same area in the knee. Nothing really bad, but he felt it again, and we have to assess it. Trent said ‘it’s fine’ but it’s not fine (because) he feels it, so we had to be careful and took him off, and that’s a double problem if you want: Trent is off, and the other is we had no other right-backs available."

Klopp elaborated on the impact of Alexander-Arnold's absence, stating, “So we told Curtis (Jones) what he had to do and we changed the formation slightly and tried to make it as simple as possible for him because it was the first time in his life he has played the position (in the Premier League), and we didn’t want him to be the inverted right-back and have to think about these things as well.”
