Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, shed light on Bukayo Saka's substitution during their recent 0-0 draw against Manchester City.
Despite doubts surrounding Saka's fitness for the Premier League clash at the Etihad, he was included in the starting lineup against the champions. However, the 22-year-old midfielder was substituted in the 78th minute of the game.
Saka's departure from the field saw Gabriel Martinelli taking his place after he went down holding his leg during the second half.
In a post-match interview, Arteta addressed concerns about Saka's condition, stating, "Nothing serious. As you know, he has been out for a few weeks now with a little problem." Arteta further elaborated, revealing that Saka was feeling fatigued due to his limited training leading up to the match.
"He only trained one day before the match. He had a big contribution but it was a lot, 90 minutes for him today," Arteta added.
