On Friday night, Germany kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a resounding 5-1 victory over Scotland. The hosts showcased their offensive prowess, with five different players contributing to the scoreboard.

The match began with a thrilling start, as Angus Gunn denied Florian Wirtz inside the first minute. However, Wirtz redeemed himself in the 10th minute, scoring the first goal of Euro 2024. Germany doubled their lead in the 19th minute, courtesy of Jamal Musiala's impressive strike.

In the 25th minute, Germany was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box following a VAR check. Kai Havertz's attempt was saved easily by the Scottish goalkeeper. However, Germany's persistence paid off in the 44th minute when they were awarded a penalty after a VAR check, resulting in Ryan Porteous's straight red card. Havertz converted the penalty, extending Germany's lead to 3-0.

The second half saw Germany continue their dominance, with Niclas Füllkrug scoring a fantastic strike in the 68th minute. Thomas Müller replaced the impressive Musiala in the 74th minute, and Germany's lead was momentarily reduced when Mckenna's header resulted in an own goal in the 87th minute. However, Germany restored their four-goal advantage with a late strike from Serge Gnabry, securing a convincing 5-1 win.
