Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, is scheduled to be released from Kirikiri Correctional Centre on August 5, 2024, after spending several months in prison for Naira note abuse.
Bobrisky's lawyer, Ayo Olumofin, also confirmed the release. He mentioned that he might not personally attend the release due to other commitments but acknowledged that Bobrisky's release is imminent. Olumofin, who is not Bobrisky's primary lawyer but handled some aspects of the case, noted that there are no specific requirements for the release process.
If you recall that Bobrisky was charged on April 5, 2024, with four counts of Naira abuse by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. He was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, with no option for a fine.
