Arsenal and Bournemouth have reached a verbal agreement regarding the transfer of goalkeeper Neto, who is expected to join the Gunners as a backup goalkeeper. However, the deal is contingent on Arsenal's inability to secure the signing of Joan García from Espanyol.

Espanyol has rejected two bids from Arsenal for García, and the Spanish club is holding firm on its demand for the player's release clause to be met. If Arsenal is unable to reach an agreement with Espanyol, the signing of Neto from Bournemouth will proceed.

Neto, who has been with Bournemouth since 2022, will provide a experienced backup option for Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper, David Raya as Aaron Ramsdale is set to leave the. Lin to join Southampton. The Brazilian goalkeeper has made 28 appearances for Bournemouth and has also played for Barcelona and Valencia in the past.

The move for García is seen as a priority for Arsenal, but the club is facing a challenge in negotiations with Espanyol. García has been impressive for Espanyol, making 37 appearances and keeping 12 clean sheets last season.

It's been learnt that Espanyol are holding on to €30m as their valuation of the Spanish goalkeeper.

If the deal for García falls through, Arsenal will turn its attention to completing the signing of Neto, who will provide a reliable backup option for the upcoming season.
