Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, is taking steps to finalize her divorce from ex-husband Richard Lawson, after a year of stagnation in the case. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Tina, 70, has submitted a final list of her income, expenses, and assets to Richard, 77, as required by the court to move forward with the divorce.
Tina initially filed for divorce in July 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" after eight years of marriage. She has requested that the court terminate the ability to award spousal support to either party and has also asked to restore her last name to Knowles.
The couple wed in 2015 on a yacht in Newport Beach, California, surrounded by friends and family, including Beyoncé, 42, and her sister Solange Knowles. Tina previously expressed her joy at finding love again at 61, saying, "To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family...it was really beautiful."
This marks Tina's second divorce, following her split from Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé and Solange's father, after three decades of marriage. Their divorce was settled in 2011. Richard has yet to file paperwork confirming he has submitted his financial information, delaying the finalization of the divorce.
