Manchester United has bolstered its midfield with the acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Uruguayan international joins the Red Devils on an initial loan deal, with an obligation to make the transfer permanent in 2025 for an initial fee of £42 million.
Ugarte's stint at PSG saw him make 37 appearances, playing a pivotal role in the team's success, including a league and cup double in the previous season. His performances also earned him recognition on the international stage, with 22 caps for Uruguay and a spot in the team of the tournament at Copa America 2024.
The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a contract until June 2029, with the option to extend for a further year.
Ugarte's addition to Manchester United's squad is expected to bring depth and talent to the team's midfield, as they aim to compete at the highest level.
