Peter Okoye Sets the Record Straight: 'I Never Petitioned EFCC Against My Twin Brother Paul'

Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, formerly of the disbanded P-Square group, has presented his perspective following allegations from his twin brother, Paul Okoye, also known as Rude Boy, who claimed that Peter had reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Peter clarified that he has never filed any petition against his twin brother with the EFCC. He then provided an account of the events that transpired.

According to Peter, he, Paul, and their older brother, Jude, co-own a management company called Northside Entertainment, which oversees all P-Square-related matters. However, he later discovered another company with a similar name, Northside Music.

Upon further investigation, Peter was shocked to find out that the founder and director of this company were his elder brother, Jude Okoye, and Jude's wife, Ifeoma Okoye. He noted that the address used for the company's registration was Ifeoma's family home.

Peter confronted his brother Paul, who denied having any knowledge of this company.

Peter then sought legal counsel and instructed his lawyers to file a petition, ensuring that his twin brother Paul's name was not included.

“I hereby challenge Paul, or anyone else to show any petition that I, Peter Okoye ever submitted against my twin brother Paul or that has Paul's name in it,” Peter wrote in his statement.

Peter did acknowledge, however, that he had filed a petition against "the suspects, Jude Okoye and his wife Ifeoma Okoye."

He explained that he took this step after discovering that "millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of Naira were being secretly diverted into this secret company's account, Northside Music, from our own Northside Entertainment."

Peter further revealed that Jude was detained after being questioned by the EFCC, where he confessed to diverting substantial sums of money into the secret company he and his wife directed.

The EFCC's investigation uncovered that Jude's covert company had been collecting royalties belonging to Northside Entertainment for several years. Additionally, during questioning, Jude implicated Paul, which led to the EFCC inviting Peter’s twin.

Peter emphasized once more that he never reported his brother to the EFCC.
