President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Council of State, a constitutional body comprising former leaders, governors, and high-ranking officials. The meeting, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, aimed to foster unity and cooperation among Nigeria's leadership.
In attendance were former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, demonstrating their commitment to the country's progress. Former Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, participated virtually, sharing their expertise.
The Council of State, chaired by the President and Vice President, includes all living former Heads of State and Presidents, former Chief Justices, the Senate President, Speaker of the House, all state governors, and the Attorney-General. This gathering facilitates meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and collective leadership on national issues.
The inaugural meeting under President Tinubu's administration sets the tone for a collaborative approach to governance, paving the way for a prosperous Nigeria.
