Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker, may be on his way out of Napoli as the Italian club attempts to secure a deal for Romelu Lukaku. Napoli's new manager, Antonio Conte, is eager to reunite with Lukaku, whom he previously worked with at Inter Milan, and is willing to offer Osimhen to Chelsea in exchange.
Osimhen, who has been instrumental in Napoli's success, scoring 26 goals in 32 league games in the 2021-22 season, has been linked with several clubs, including PSG and Saudi Arabian sides. However, Napoli's inability to find a buyer willing to meet their £90 million valuation has led them to consider alternative options.
Chelsea, who are looking to offload Lukaku, may be tempted by the prospect of acquiring Osimhen, who has a release clause of around £101 million in his contract. Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has already held talks with Chelsea in London, tabling an initial offer of £26 million for Lukaku, but the Blues are holding out for a higher fee.
As the transfer saga unfolds, Osimhen's future remains uncertain. Will he remain at Napoli, or will he make a move to Chelsea in exchange for Lukaku? Only time will tell.
