Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard is set to be sidelined for at least two months due to a significant ankle injury sustained while playing for Norway in the UEFA Nations League match against Austria.

Ødegaard had to leave the field during the 67th minute and was initially thought to have a sprain.

However, further scans revealed ligament damage, confirmed by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. This injury will keep him out of key fixtures, both in the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Norwegian midfielder, a pivotal figure for Arsenal, will miss several critical matches, including the Premier League clash with Manchester City and Champions League encounters with Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

Arteta acknowledged the challenge posed by Ødegaard's absence, emphasizing the importance of the captain's role in shaping the team's identity.
