Conte Laments Failed Osimhen Sale After Napoli’s 2-1 Triumph Over Parma

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has voiced his disappointment over the club's inability to sell Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window.

Conte's comments came after Napoli's dramatic 2-1 victory over Parma, a match that saw Romelu Lukaku score on his debut for the club.

In the game against Parma, Napoli found themselves trailing after Ange-Yoan Bonny scored for the visitors in the 16th minute. However, Conte's side mounted a late comeback with goals from Lukaku and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in stoppage time, securing a hard-fought win.

Conte expressed his frustration regarding the Osimhen situation, stating, "Of course, if Osimhen had been sold, we would have completed the situation better." The Nigerian striker had been linked with a move to Chelsea, but the deal fell through on deadline day. As a result, Osimhen has been excluded from Napoli's first-team squad.

The arrival of Lukaku from Chelsea was a significant move for Napoli. The Belgian striker reunited with Conte, under whom he enjoyed a prolific spell at Inter Milan. Lukaku's transfer, reportedly worth £30 million, is seen as a key addition to Napoli's attacking options. Lukaku has been assigned the number 11 jersey.

Despite the victory over Parma, Conte's remarks highlight the ongoing challenges within the club. The failed transfer of Osimhen has left the player in limbo, and it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold as the season progresses.
