Pep Guardiola has shared an update on Kevin De Bruyne's injury status as Manchester City prepares for their important Premier League match against Arsenal.
The Belgian midfielder, who sustained a hamstring injury during City's recent Champions League encounter with Inter Milan, is currently being evaluated. Guardiola noted that De Bruyne's condition has improved slightly, but his availability for the weekend fixture remains uncertain.
"He feels a little better today," Guardiola mentioned. "Tomorrow we train and we will see. He could be involved."
De Bruyne's injury occurred in the first half of the goalless draw against Inter Milan, leading to his substitution at halftime. This development has sparked concerns about his readiness for the pivotal match against Arsenal, which could have significant implications for the Premier League title race, even at this early stage of the season.
In addition to De Bruyne's situation, Manchester City is not dealing with any new injury issues. However, versatile defender Nathan Ake remains out of action due to a thigh injury he picked up while on international duty with the Netherlands.
Regarding City's recent Champions League performance, they secured a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan in their opening fixture of the 2024-25 season. While not the most favorable result, it sets the stage for their ongoing campaign in the competition.
