Popular actor Van Vicker and his wife, Adjoa, are marking a significant milestone today, October 16, as they celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary.
To mark this special occasion, Van Vicker took to social media to express his gratitude and share valuable insights into what has made his marriage a success. In a heartfelt post, he wrote:
"Today is my 21st wedding anniversary. I am grateful to God. Marriage is a bed of thorny roses. It has extremely lovely times and really trying moments. In all moments, 'THE WILL' is key. Getting married to the 'right' person is critical (knowing the person substantially). Staying 'in love' is paramount (not just 'loving' your spouse). And finally, for me, it's 'the desire' to want to stay married (in the absence of abuse)."
Van Vicker emphasized the importance of three key elements in his marriage:
1. Marrying the right person, with substantial knowledge of them.
2. Staying in love, beyond just loving your spouse.
3. Having the desire to stay married, absent abuse.
He concluded, "The culminated effect of these 3 points may transcend those thorns in the roses. Pricky as they may be, however, the internal remedies are sufficient to let you move to the next day and the next and for years. Regardless of the thorns, love is STILL a beautiful thing."
Reflecting on his journey, Van Vicker expressed no regrets about being married and staying married. He acknowledged his blessing in having Adjoa by his side for 30 years, saying, "I pray for Grace to continue this beautiful struggle. Happy anniversary to us."
