Barcelona's teenage sensation, Lamine Yamal, has been crowned the winner of the prestigious 2024 Golden Boy Award, presented by Italian publication Tuttosport.
The award, which honors the best under-21 player in Europe, recognizes Yamal's outstanding performances both for his club and country over the past year.
Yamal, who turned 17 in July, made a significant impact during the 2023-24 season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 16 appearances for Barcelona. His contributions were instrumental in the team's strong start under manager Hansi Flick.
The young forward also shone on the international stage, helping Spain secure the European Championship title. Yamal's standout moment came in the semifinal against France, where he scored a crucial equalizer and provided four assists throughout the tournament, earning him the Young Player of the Tournament award.
Yamal joins an elite group of Barcelona players who have won the Golden Boy Award, including Lionel Messi, Pedri, and Gavi. He is also the fifth Spanish player to receive the accolade, following Cesc FÃ bregas, Isco, Pedri, and Gavi.
