Germany Held to a Draw in Budapest
Germany was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Hungary in their final UEFA Nations League group stage match on Tuesday.
Felix Nmecha opened the scoring in the 76th minute with his first international goal, tapping in a rebound.
However, a stoppage-time Panenka penalty by Hungary’s Dominik Szoboszlai, awarded after a VAR review for handball, ensured the spoils were shared.
Germany, fielding a heavily rotated squad, dominated possession but struggled to create clear chances. Despite the draw, they finished atop their group and await the quarter-final draw.
