Sporting Lisbon's head coach, Ruben Amorim, has dismissed rumors linking Viktor Gyökeres with a move to Manchester United. This comes following Gyökeres' impressive hat-trick in Sporting's 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League on November 5, 2024.
In the match, Manchester City's Phil Foden scored early, finding the net in the 4th minute. However, Sporting Lisbon responded strongly, with Viktor Gyökeres scoring a hat-trick in the 37th, 48th, and 80th minutes, while Maximiliano Araujo added a goal in the 45+1' minute to seal the win.
Amorim addressed the transfer rumors by stating, "If I start joking about this Gyökeres situation, I'll get in trouble. Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life will probably go somewhere else."
