Chris Wood set the pace with a powerful header in the 27th minute, connecting with a cross from Alex Moreno. The lead was extended in the 65th minute when Callum Hudson-Odoi curled a shot into the net from outside the box. Ola Aina cemented the win in the 81st minute, taking advantage of an error from West Ham's Jean-Clair Todibo to fire a spectacular shot into the top corner.
Adding to the drama, West Ham played most of the match with only 10 men following Edson Alvarez's first-half dismissal for a reckless tackle. Despite their numerical disadvantage, West Ham struggled to create significant opportunities against Nottingham Forest's strong defense.
