AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by AS Roma in a thrilling Serie A encounter at San Siro Stadium on December 29, 2024.
The Rossoneri took the lead in the 16th minute when Youssouf Fofana delivered a precise pass to Tijjani Reijnders, who slotted the ball home with a clinical first-time finish.
However, AS Roma responded in spectacular fashion just seven minutes later. Artem Dovbyk showcased exceptional skill with a back-heel flick to set up Paulo Dybala, who volleyed the ball into the net to bring the visitors level.
The match turned heated towards the end of the first half when Reijnders went down in the box under pressure, but the referee dismissed Milan’s penalty appeals. Head coach Paulo Fonseca was subsequently sent off for protesting the decision.
Despite both teams creating opportunities in the second half, neither managed to secure a decisive goal, resulting in a shared point. The draw leaves AC Milan in eighth place with 27 points, while AS Roma remain in 10th with 20 points, as the Serie A title race intensifies.
