The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has responded to a viral video showing a police officer in Bayelsa requesting a dog license from a local resident. In the video, the police officer stopped a dog owner and asked to see the license for the dog. The interaction amused the owner and nearby residents, who seemed puzzled by the officer’s request.
In his reaction, Adejobi supported the officer's actions, explaining that it was in line with Nigerian law. He highlighted a 1943 regulation that mandates dog owners to obtain a license within six months of ownership, and that the license must be kept with the dog at all times.
