Ex-Everton Players Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman to Take Charge for FA Cup Clash Following Sean Dyche's Sacking

Everton Football Club has confirmed the dismissal of manager Sean Dyche, effective immediately. The decision comes just hours before the team’s crucial FA Cup third-round match against Peterborough United.

Dyche, who joined Everton in 2022, led the club through challenging seasons, narrowly avoiding relegation in both campaigns. However, a recent string of poor results, including just one win in their last 11 matches, prompted the club to part ways with the manager.

In the wake of Dyche's sacking, former Everton players Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman will assume managerial duties for the FA Cup tie against Peterborough. Baines, who currently serves as Everton's Under-18s head coach, and Coleman, the club captain, will step up to lead the team temporarily.

The club has already begun the search for a permanent successor, with former Everton manager David Moyes and ex-Chelsea and Manchester United boss José Mourinho among the potential candidates.

The FA Cup match will take place at Goodison Park, with a scheduled kick-off time of 20:45 GMT.
