In an official statement, La Liga stated, "Barcelona has not presented any alternative that would allow the registration, in accordance with La Liga's economic control regulations, to register any player from next January 2."
This decision follows Barcelona's recent request to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for new licenses for Olmo and Víctor. The club had previously registered these players by utilizing salary space created by long-term injuries within the squad; however, these registrations were only valid until December 31.
Despite efforts to secure additional revenue, including a proposed €100 million deal involving the sale of future VIP seat packages at Spotify Camp Nou, La Liga has not validated the operation. Consequently, without meeting the necessary financial requirements, Barcelona is unable to register new players in compliance with La Liga's economic control regulations.
As a result, Dani Olmo may become a free agent starting January 1, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs. Pau Víctor, lacking a similar clause in his contract, would remain with Barcelona but without an official registration, rendering him ineligible to participate in official matches.
