Chuba Akpom Completes Lille Medical Ahead of Loan Move from Ajax with Option to Buy

Chuba Akpom, the former Arsenal striker who has switched his international allegiance from England to Nigeria, has successfully completed his medical examination with French club Lille OSC. This development brings him closer to finalizing a transfer from Ajax Amsterdam. 

According to reports, Lille has reached an agreement with Ajax to acquire Akpom on a loan deal that includes an option to purchase. The French club reportedly overcame competition from teams in the Premier League, Championship, and other European leagues to secure the 29-year-old's services. 

During his tenure with Ajax, Akpom has netted eight goals and provided one assist across 32 appearances. However, limited playing opportunities have prompted his decision to seek a move. 

Lille anticipates that Akpom's experience and attacking prowess will bolster their forward line, especially as they prepare for the potential departure of Ivorian striker Mohamed Bayo, who is expected to join Belgian side Royal Antwerp on loan. 

As the transfer window draws to a close, Lille supporters are eagerly awaiting official confirmation of Akpom's signing, which would see the former England youth international don the club's colors in the near future.
