Paulo Dybala Ruled Out for the Season Following Serious Muscle Injury and Upcoming Surgery

AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala is set to miss the remainder of the season due to an upcoming surgery on his left thigh. The 31-year-old Argentine sustained an injury to his left semitendinosus tendon during Roma's 1-0 victory over Cagliari last weekend.
In an official statement, Roma announced: "Paulo Dybala will undergo surgery in the coming days following an injury to his left semitendinosus tendon. The player and the club have mutually agreed that this is the best course of action for an optimal recovery."

This season, Dybala has been instrumental in Roma's resurgence under manager Claudio Ranieri, contributing eight goals and four assists across all competitions. Since Ranieri's appointment in November, Roma has climbed from 12th to seventh in Serie A, currently trailing fifth-placed Juventus by three points and fourth-placed Bologna by four points.

The recovery period for semitendinosus tendon surgery typically requires a minimum of three months, effectively sidelining Dybala for the remainder of the season. His absence presents a significant challenge for Roma as they continue their pursuit of European competition in the upcoming season.

Roma's next fixture is scheduled against Lecce on March 29, following the international break.
