RFEF Dismisses Barcelona and Osasuna Appeals, Stars to Miss Crucial La Liga Clash

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has dismissed appeals from FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna to reschedule their La Liga match, now confirmed for March 27. The original fixture, set for March 8, was postponed due to the sudden passing of Barcelona's club doctor, Carles Miñarro Garcia.

Both clubs proposed alternative dates. Barcelona expressed concerns about player availability, as several key members, including Raphinha and Ronald Araujo, are on international duty and may lack adequate rest before the match. Osasuna highlighted the proximity of their subsequent game against Athletic Bilbao, initially scheduled for March 28, suggesting insufficient recovery time.

Despite these concerns, the RFEF's Appeals Committee upheld the March 27 date. Consequently, the Osasuna-Athletic Bilbao match has been moved to March 30. Barcelona's fixture against Girona remains set for March 30.

This scheduling means Barcelona will likely be without Raphinha and Araujo for the Osasuna match, as they are committed to international duties with Brazil and Uruguay, respectively.

Currently, Barcelona leads La Liga with 60 points, level with Real Madrid but having played one fewer game.
