The Moroccan U-17 national football team has achieved a historic victory in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, marking their first-ever title at this level. The final match, held on April 19, 2025, saw Morocco face Mali in a tightly contested game that ended in a goalless draw after regular time. 
The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Morocco showcased remarkable composure and skill, securing a 4-2 victory. Goalkeeper Chouaib Belaarouch emerged as the hero of the night, making two crucial saves during the shootout. 

Throughout the tournament, Morocco displayed exceptional teamwork and talent. Notable performances included their 3-1 victory against South Africa in the quarter-finals, where standout players like Z. El Khalfioui and A. Jout contributed decisive goals. In the semi-finals, Morocco edged past Ivory Coast with a 1-0 win, thanks to a brilliant strike by I. Belmokhtar.
