Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has provided an update on defender Ola Aina's condition following his injury during the recent 1-0 victory over Manchester United. Aina was forced to leave the pitch approximately ten minutes before halftime due to the injury.
Espírito Santo revealed that Aina sustained a muscle problem during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final while representing Nigeria. Despite this, Aina played in the final, but the injury has since sidelined him. The head coach stated, "Ola got injured in the semi-final and played the final with an injury, he tried but didn't really play in the final." He further added that there is currently no definitive timeline for Aina's return to action.
