Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to part ways with Leicester City, with a meeting scheduled next week to discuss his future at the club.

Following Leicester's relegation from the Premier League after a 1–0 home defeat to Liverpool, the Dutch manager's tenure has come under scrutiny. Appointed in November 2024, van Nistelrooy's time in charge has been challenging, with the team securing only one win in 18 matches under his leadership. The club's performance, including a record nine consecutive home games without scoring, has raised concerns about the team's direction and management.

Van Nistelrooy has expressed disappointment over the club's lack of investment during the January transfer window, with the only signing being Woyo Coulibaly and the departure of striker Tom Cannon to balance finances. Additionally, the team's over-reliance on aging star Jamie Vardy, who struggled to deliver, and a porous defense conceding 73 goals in 33 games contributed significantly to their downfall.
