Kevin De Bruyne Confirms Talks with Clubs Amid Uncertainty Over Future

Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed he is actively engaging with clubs regarding his future as he approaches the end of his contract with Manchester City.

The 33-year-old midfielder, who has been a pivotal figure in City's success over the past decade, acknowledges the complexity of the decision ahead. 

"I'm speaking to clubs about my future," De Bruyne stated. "I want to play good football, whatever the decision." He emphasized that the choice isn't solely about his professional aspirations but also about his family's well-being. "Staying in England? It depends who comes... I have a family, kids; I have to take care of a decision that suits everybody. The decision is complex," he told Sky Sports. 

De Bruyne's contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of the 2024–25 season, and no extension talks have been held thus far. Manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged the situation, stating, "He’s 34 in summer and has to decide." Guardiola emphasized that De Bruyne must be honest with himself in making this decision, similar to how former City legend David Silva approached his departure from the club .

While De Bruyne has been linked with potential moves to clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States, he remains open to various opportunities. He expressed a willingness to consider any project that aligns with his passion for football and his family's needs. "If teams come and then convince me that they have a nice sport project... I am willing to listen," he said in a recent interview .
