Nicolas Jackson banned for rest of Premier League season after red card

Nicolas Jackson received a red card during Chelsea's match against Newcastle, leading to his suspension for the remainder of the Premier League season. The incident took place in the 35th minute, when Jackson elbowed Sven Botman. Initially, the referee issued a yellow card, but after a VAR review, the decision was upgraded to a red card, sealing his fate for the final stretch of the season.

As a result of the suspension, Jackson will miss Chelsea’s last two matches against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. In addition, under FA regulations, he will also serve the third match of his suspension at the start of next season, meaning he won't be available for Chelsea’s opening fixture.

This suspension comes at a critical point for Chelsea as they aim to finish the season strongly.
