Rayan Cherki Confirms Summer Exit from Olympique Lyon with Emotional Farewell

Rayan Cherki has officially announced his intention to depart Olympique Lyonnais during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Following Lyon's recent match, the 21-year-old midfielder expressed his gratitude in the mixed zone, stating: 

 “Thanks to OL, the coach, the staff, the president, my teammates and all people at the club.” 

Cherki's decision comes after a standout season in which he contributed 12 goals and 19 assists across all competitions, solidifying his reputation as one of Europe's most promising young talents. His performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Manchester United, AC Milan, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.  

Lyon, facing financial challenges and aiming to avoid losing Cherki on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2026, are reportedly open to offers for the midfielder. The club's financial situation has made them more amenable to negotiating a transfer, with a reported asking price of €35 million.
