Kyle Walker Departs AC Milan After Six-Month Loan

AC Milan have confirmed that 35-year-old England international Kyle Walker will return to Manchester City at the conclusion of his six-month loan spell. The Italian side opted not to activate the €5 million purchase option included in the agreement .

During his time with the Rossoneri, Walker made 16 appearances—11 in Serie A—registering no goals or assists . His contributions, while occasionally solid, failed to convince the club that a permanent transfer was justified. Concerns centered on his age, high salary, and modest statistical output, especially given AC Milan’s absence from European competition next season .

AC Milan also underwent a managerial change with the appointment of Max Allegri, making Walker’s inclusion in the club’s future plans even less likely .

Following his departure, Walker returns to Manchester City—where he still has one year remaining on his contract—but is unlikely to remain at the Etihad as he was excluded from the Club World Cup squad . Several clubs have expressed interest in securing his services, including Everton and Turkish giants Fenerbahçe under José Mourinho .
