Oshoala completed her medical in Riyadh before finalizing the deal, which was announced by Al-Hilal on their official social media platforms. Her move reunites her with fellow Nigerian internationals Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega, further strengthening the Nigerian presence in the rapidly growing Saudi women's football scene.
Widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest female footballers, Oshoala brings a wealth of experience to Al-Hilal. She previously enjoyed a prolific five-year stint at FC Barcelona, where she scored 107 goals in 149 appearances and won multiple Liga F titles and UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies. Her career also includes spells at Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chinese club Dalian Quanjian, following her early development at Nigerian clubs Robo Queens and Rivers Angels.
At Bay FC, Oshoala made 38 appearances and scored seven goals during her brief tenure. Her departure from the American club was met with praise from Bay FC’s management, who lauded her professionalism and impact both on and off the pitch.
With Al-Hilal finishing sixth in the previous season, Oshoala’s arrival is expected to bolster the squad’s attacking options and elevate their competitiveness in the expanding league.
